Laser line tool in UK?
« on: April 29, 2015, 10:53:04 AM »
Leadadventurers, I come to you for help please!

I've been after a laser line tool for some time now, and it seems that nearly everyone in a country other than the UK can purchase a small version for very cheap. I have been waiting anxiously for The Army Painter's ''Targetlock'' Laser Line to come back into stock, but after moths and months it seems unlikely.

So, does anyone know where I can purchase one cheaply in the UK please? I'd rather not have anything big/bulky/expensive (over £10) if possible, and I note that this tool should project a line and not a dot onto the table.

Thanks in advance! :)

Not got one myself but I saw this the other day

HDE Handheld Non-contact Infared (IR) Line Bubble Level Leveler Guide

Might do the trick. On the other hand the reviews are not great...

There are some lasers in the bargain section of Northstar Miniatures for the moment. Not sure if they are the ones you mean though.

Unfortunately, that's a pointer (that projects a dot not a line). :(

I bought mine from Ebay from a company in I think Hong Kong, cost less than a tenner including postage, arrived after a couple of weeks.  Unfortunately I cannot remember the exact details, & cannot access Ebay from work at the moment.  I know you would prefer from UK, but I looked and couldn't find one here, so bought it from Ebay, with no problems.

Thanks guys. :)

@ zenbadger:

Yeah, I did see that, but it looks like an old batch that someone's selling off judging the same repeated faults cropping up in the reviews. I'd rather avoid a bad product if I can!  :?

@ comet5:

Sounds promising! I'd be interested in the link later if you get the chance please. :)

I have one built into a tape measure/spirit level bought from a DIY place.
Will project a line either horizontally of vertically.

Beware those Army painter laser lines.
We've bought a bunch with our group(s) and noticed that a lot of them had really thick lines and only some a nice fine line.
1 however projects a curved line instead of a straight one  ???

Wow, thanks for the tip - I didn't realise that there was such discrepancy within the same product!  Maybe that's why they've all been out of stock for so long?
