I found this hard to call, but my vote is cast. Both great entries. :)

Gents! Gents! Let's not quibble.....you're both geniuses!

Admiral, I'd love to know how you get such a close up picture and still be in focus!!

Well, that's always the challenge ...  :) If you look closely, the two background figures are not as sharp as the other three.

First, I don't shoot that exact picture frame you'll see afterwards, but always a larger section. That will ease the focal point for the camera a bit. The section you see here is cropped from a larger image.

Second, my camera is nothing hightech but a Konica Minolta Dimage Z6 with (only) 6 MP. But the reason why I choose her, I can operate her fully manual. So with f8 maximum depth of field I can try diverse shutter speeds under different lightings.

Third, I make a lot of pics. And finally choose the best one. You see, no secret at all.

Unbeliveable work, both. But the rules says one vote, not two. In this match a very hard decision.

Greetings.

Oh my

and again

Eltee.. are those notches in the Shields real or did you paint them on?
And who's the big guy in the background?

Admiral,
I'm flabbergasted by  the brilliancy of your picture. I can't recall a picture with such stunning colour depth.

Wonderful work, both of you

The notches are painnted on, and the little giant is "Duncan the Leggend" from  Mirlitons Barbarians Range.

Both are very really a piece of art.  :-*

@Michael: With your four absolutely perfect photos, the awesome painted figures and the magnificent terrain, you have set up a rather high bar for this competition.  :o
