Perry Early British Napoleonic Greens
« on: 17 May 2015, 05:16:41 PM »
Skirmishing light infantry and line infantry dollies for the Peninsula. The dollies with gaiters on the corks are 1800-1807 British infantry and will be suitable for Egypt, India and other early campaigns.

The figures in bearskins at the back are Danish and Dutch grenadiers, and Alan Perry confirmed he intends to do Napoleonic Portuguese at some point. Swedes are not on the cards for the time being but Alan says he does not rule them out altogether.

Portuguese? BRILLIANT! If Alan is reading this, any chance of Spanish as well? (Well, I can ask can't I?  :D)

Looks promising and more portuguese are welcome.

Sparrow, Front Rank has lots of spanish troops and guerrillas and although they are not the same as the perrys they are very nice though.

India might explain why there are Light Dragoons in "tropical helmets" in the new light dragoon box......

Hi Rumacara - yep, well aware of the Front Rank and "yes" they are very nice!

Sadly I started doing the Peninsular War with Foundry so it's a size thing. If starting out over again I'd use Front Rank but I am where I am, sadly. If Perry Miniatures did do Portuguese and Spanish it'd make my life a lot easier. (Offensive Miniatures do some very nice suitably sized Spanish infantry but, alas, no cavalry or artillery).

Early British in gaiters? That really does open up the prospect of fighting the British Invasions of the River Plate, among other things. Pity they won't be plastic.

If you can't wait, Brigade Games do some very nice Spanish infantry in bicorne, militia in top hat and some guerrillas. Being Paul Hicks sculpts, they're totally Perry-compatible.

Interesting. I was thinking about using the Hicks US troops vs Perry plastics for War of 1812.
