[Kickstarter] Medieval (fantasy?) Zombicide: Black Plague
« on: May 22, 2015, 03:36:35 PM »
Apparently the modern day zombie market is saturated, so it's time for classical (fantasy zombies)

Here are some pictures from their facebook page (link):

I'm pretty curious about this one.

Why aim for gold if you can get lead?

Not a huge interest in Zombicide, but this one would get my attention more than the old one.  If the minis are reasonable and the KS goes nuts I may go in for some big medieval/fantasy zombie monsters.  How does Zombicide scale with other 28mm minis?

To be honest rather tired of zombies, but if the boards and other stuff looks interesting, i might be interested.

I'm also pretty stocked up on the zombie front, but the heroes, tiles and rules are nice. Zombicide itself can also easily be played with other models then zombies, possibly with team of players playing against each other and is even easily adjustable to a TTG instead of a board game, where the equipment cards can be a great assest if survivoers are searching for loot.

I can imagine using the tiles and specificaly equipment cards for skirmish fantasy games. If you give either the monsters more health or the heroes less, you can even play without needing enormous hordes of opponents. Seeing how the last zombicide kickstarters went, chances are that it will become a nice set for a reasonable price.

Well, if they redesign the zombies it can be pretty interesting. I don't have a copy of zombicide yet, so this might become the 1st one ( again, the models will make or break it for me )...

How does Zombicide scale with other 28mm minis?

An average human (not a fatty or an abomination) measures aprox 30-31mm to the eyes, 33-34mm to the top of the head, but we have used them with some other ranges 28mm minis, and they do mix pretty well once on the table.

Hope that helps.

I'm still waiting for my season 3 pledge to arrive, before deciding if I'll bite on this.

But if the other minis are as good as the fighting nun, resistance may be futile.

Best wishes.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

Those floorplans look REALLY SIMILAR to the Cadwallon ones from Rackham... maybe the same artist, or are they utlizing some surplus product?

Even if I wanted to support another Zombicide Kickstarter (which I don't really- tired of all the early bird/ KS exclusive overladen Kickstarters) I wouldn't even know where to put it. I am nearly at a stage where I could build an igloo with the darn things. Nice minis nonetheless which I'd rather have cast in resin so they don't lose their detail. Surprised CMON has ever thought of doing that.

I'm also waiting for my S3 stuff to arrive and I'm getting tired of the KS scene, so unless they come up with really cool and original characters, I'll get this one once it hits the shelves.

I agree, and considering that Guilotine games als has old Rackham employees a distinct possibility. They made me think of the Arcadia Quest tiles as well (an older a CMoN kickstarter).

GG was formed by a couple of the guys from Rackham and another friend (if I remember correctly, I may have  the proportions incorrect).

I'll be in for this one. I've gotten a LOT of mileage out of my modern Zombicide stuff, so I'm excited to see where they go with this.

As for the idea of resin models as add ons.... It's a logistical nightmare. Most of the companies that have tried it have regretted it, so I expect they'll stay with the plastics.

I like it, as does the missus and doe most of my (board)gaming friends. The rules are pretty easy to learn and work pretty well. Important to note that especially with the expansions, it's a big sandbox game; use whichever options you like with a number of ways of tweaking the difficulty level. Still one of my friends doesn't lile it anymore, he played Zombicide a lot and ended up with a feeling of "It's always the same". I don't play it that often and it stays pretty fresh for me.

Btw, here is a new teaser from the facebook page:
