Miniature Painter Icons
« on: 29 May 2015, 11:10:29 AM »
This started as a toy project but I'm really enjoying it and I believe it might be of some interest to others.

I'm designing a collection of pixel art icons intended for miniature painting, wargaming and rpg websites, forums, blogs and ecommerce.

This is what I have so far, but I will be adding more if there's interest and I'm taking suggestions.

Can you name all of them? :) What to add next?

They are divided into the following categories:

- Brands
- Games
- Gear
- Paints
- [not-yet-implemented] Genres (fantasy, sci-fi, ...)

The original icons are free to use (even for commectial purpose) and licensed under a very permissive Creative Commons license. Trademarks are property of respective companies and you use them at your own risk. Please contact me if you are interested in using them.

Be careful: your top row, at least, contains what are probably registered trade marks, and are not yours to license.

thanks for the heads up. What I mean is that I'm not asking anything for using my "pixel art", I doubt any of the involved companies would come after you, but surely trademarked material is owned by the respective companies.

It's you, matt30, who are principally at risk.  By making your icons available under a Creative Commons license from you, you are claiming rights over someone else's intellectual property: the right to determine how their trade marks can be used.  If they find out about it, they will have little choice but to come after you, because undefended intellectual property rights can lapse.  What's more, anyone else they pursue, who claims that they were misled by you into thinking that they had rights from you to use these icons, could drop you right in it.

ok then take it like this: all 100% original icons are released under Creative Commons, everything else is use-at-your-own-risk
