At the time the VFW range was sculpted, I was the sole distributor of Minifigs in the Benelux countries and often visited the factory in Southampton.  This was not solely a business venture, but I was also a personal friend of Neville, Tony Bath and Dick Higgs.  During a visit to his home (where the sculping took place), Dick offered me a the master of a VFW Hero-figure on a skull that was never produced (not to my knowledge, at least).  So here it is:

Crude by todays standard but I love the design, especially the helmet is ace  :-*.

A very stylish figure, though I'm not sure how practical it would be for gaming!

It is crude by today's standards, true, but at the time, the Valley of the Four Winds range was quite an eye-opener. I had a lot of the figures - goodness knows who I sold them all on to... Lost in the mists of time...  ::)

It was a grand range indeed, the stuff now days may be technically better yes, but I find the bulk of it yawn making.

Please get it out into production! I love these old Minifigs ranges. Would there be any chance of me using the pics in an upcoming VFW blog post?

Apart from the fact that it was a gift as such and I don't hold any rights on reproduction (sorry...) I think it would wreck te mould after a few castings (look at the angles).  The good news is: anybody who wants to can share these pictures, so please go ahead!

There was a VFW review picture in an old Dragon magazine of what looked like a footstool with a dog's head. Never seen it and the picture wasn't very high resolution unfortunately.
