You're not kidding either, there was an ash tray, wasn't there!

Sad to hear of the demise of Jamiesons, a wee emporium of models and so handily placed along the road from Static and the erratic, eclectic Dragon & George!

But great news that new shop will rise from the ashes. Hopefully in the same part of town too!!

That's true..... there was a whole street of modelling shops when I was in Sunny Edinburgh.

It made the trip through to Glasgow every few weeks a very worthy one. My ex was really into her vintage clothing so we could literally spend the whole day there- me encamped in Static her encamped at the other side of town  :)

Darrell.

An update! It would appear the webshop is nearly ready, but nothing confirmed as yet for the bricks-and-mortar shop...

Still, should be of interest to some on here...

GRAND OPENING! NEW BRICKS & MORTAR MODEL SHOP IN GLASGOW!

Scott's Model's opens its doors tomorrow at 0900, at 9 St Margaret's Place, Glasgow, G1 5JY. This is just a stone's throw from the old Jamieson's Models down in the Saltmarket, so if you're in Glasgow, pop in and let's try and keep a much needed resource going!

I'm gutted i'm at work this weekend, but come the middle of the week I'll be in there to rapidly diminish their Humbrol stocks. Hopefully they've inherited some old stock from Jamieson's, as there was always loads of bizzare goodies to be found in there if you looked hard enough....

It fills me with nostalgia hearing about the re-opening of a model shop in Glasgow- I used to frequent Jamiesons and Static Games on an almost weekly basis despite living in Edinburgh- I know it's only an hour on the train but it somehow seemed longer when I was heading through to pick up something specific.

I'm in Durham now and have the luxury of a very large model shop two miles away :)

Darrell.
