After a break of nearly two years (Ahem) the Ludus of Malamutius Calvus is once again training Gladiators.

Here are the latest two new slaves to swear the oath of brotherhood.

A Myrmillo from Africanus and an Arbelus from Gaul:

The Mrymillo has had some minor changes, his helmet was open, so the visor has been added with Green Stuff and his shield has been changed from a round one to a Scutum.

The Arbelus has only had some minor work done with a replacement cheesecutter pinned and finishing off with Green Stuff.
Both are 40mm figures from Trident Designs/Battle Honours.

What are their names though...

Lovely work, the shield works very well and I like the blue/yellow transition

Very nice Nick - love how you've brought that Murmillo into line mate!

His shield design is great and looks the period. Solid work on the helmet too.

And that cheese cutter ain't to bad either.

Are there any different models left from Trident Designs that we haven't seen yet? They seem to cover the common armaturae well enough.

I have a Provocateur left to paint from the orginal set, another Retiarius and have acquired a few more to do some conversions. (There was only one Thraex, so doing another...

)
