Scratched cultists
« on: 27 June 2015, 04:17:10 PM »
I wanted to make a cultist force to compete against Brits and Germans in an upcoming Pulp 1930's middle eastern campaign. I bought some of the Pulp male cultists and they are nice figures but they have western looking trousers and shoes. I wanted a more 'local/ragged' look. Using some GW Flagellant bodies (with 'ripped' exposed torsos covered in green stuff) I used Westwind pict heads and WF sleeved arms with a variety of weapons. I didn't use GW heads, arms & weapons as they look very cartoonish. After a lot of green stuffing I arrived at something resembling what I was after. The leader will be a Pulp Cult woman (the females don't have the same 'trouser/shoe' issue).I took some quick pics with the phone before undercoating, I'll take some more/better ones when they are painted.
Interstingly it struck me that the Flagellants would convert to nice Faith Militant figs for GoT.

Hi!
Impressive work. They were good looking sculpts. The lot turned out terrific.

Kudos,

Fantastic work! The sculpted cloth far surpasses what I can do yet. The colour scheme is great too.

Now you mentioned GoT, they could pass really well for Sons of the Harpy, if you ask me.

They look great!

Thanks for the comments, they did turn out well but then the GW bodies are really nice sculpts. Looking back I would have rather used the Anvil hooded heads

than the Westwind ones but I hadn't seen them when I did the conversions and I had some Westwind ones in the lead pile.
