Specifically the Cuirassers and Hussars?

I'm not an expert but the Perry plastic French heavy cavalry look like they'd be fine for Cuirassers with the addition of a pickelhaube and perhaps extending the blanket under the saddle slightly. Am I right?
The boots concerned me at first but looking at the few photo's I can find (and the Osprey plate), the trouser/boot ratio varied between companies anyway.

The Hussars are more ambiguous as I'm struggling to find any decent photo's of Prussian 1870 Hussars. Would the British or French hussars work?

Thanks for any help!
So many projects..... so little time.......

If it won't work I'll just have to field a shit-ton of Uhlans  lol

And probably dislocate my arm every time I lift the carry case!

I think you'd be better working back from WW1 cav than forward from Napoleonic.

(Don't blame me, I'm just saying....!)

I thought all the fancy uniforms were ditched by WW1?

Foundry carries all these figures

Yeah, already discounted them for various reasons.

Okay, so I've finally found some reasonable pics and remembered another uniform book that I had in another room....

Cuirassers are fine, just swap for a pickelhaube head and extend the blanket. Paint in a white uniform and all is good.

Hussars don't work, either of them. The braiding on the Prussian jacket is much simpler, more like the WW1 style...  ::), also the horse blankets were entirely different. They (perhaps unsurprisingly) look an awful lot like the Austrian Hussars so I may take a look at those. Doesn't solve the weight issue but I'll just do more Cuirassers if needed.
