Flashman In The Sudan!
« on: 05 July 2015, 05:59:55 PM »
An AAR from our game, written in an attempt to emulate the devine GMF which may provide some amusement to afficionados is now up on my much neglected blog

http://lifes-a-botch.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/flashman-in-sudan-1885.html

I am sure others Flashie in their games-we have had him from the Mutiny through the US in the 1840s, Zululand and now this one so far over the years.

Anyone know anything new about the possible TV series or the film?

Great report! That has to be the most well annotated AAR ever written. Reminds me I have to finish reading my copy of Fuzzy Wuzzy.

Thank you for all the kind words, chaps, glad you enjoyed it. Cunningly woven in are a couple of actual quotes from the GMF books, to help get the right tone.

Poor Old Flashman. You didn't have the heart to let the old fellow enjoy a nice, quiet retirement??!!

Very well done, indeed--you've a nice handle on the tone of old Flashy, and I love the photos of your games in 54mm! Please keep sharing!

A very cool story. Loved it.
You have Flashman down to the tee.
More, more, please.
I have all ways loved the Flashman books,
time to dig them out for a reread.

A lovely homage to the great GMF,s style. More in the same vein please, remember the memoirs say that he fought on both sides in the A.C. War.

Thanks for the nice comments, folks. We do have some other games in which Flashie features, but the AARs are not 'by him' so I would need to rewrite them from his viewpoint...watch this space.
