Great painting Prof.  :D

That makeup works really well with the facial expression to make him look just the right side of criminally insane.

Great posting, I already love this project!

And your initial posting sums up my Batman view/ experience pretty well too.
I even share the love / hate view on Knights models...

Right now I am even more motivated to paint some Batman minis since I play Arkham Knight currently.
(I am really lousy in console games, but it was just too beautiful to skip!)
cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - https://www.adpublishing.de

Seeing the games like Arkham Knight, my excitement is always through the roof and I've almost bought the game console a few times but something (probably a higher power!) prevented me from buying that devil's device  :D But who knows, maybe one day. My daughter wouldn't mind. But my wife :)

Wonderful project, Alex !    :)

Lately I started to paint the Dark Knight myself and I'm curiously looking forward to seeing your progress with the evil side of Gotham City.   ;)

I’ve been busy painting clowns this week and I mean really busy. Like mentioned I love the figures but they’re not only hard to assemble but also hard to paint. Too many little details, hardly recognisable as such, thus I had to make some compromises and decided to paint skin where perhaps no skin is and vise versa. You see, I’m really a fan of the world of Gotham, otherwise I wouldn’t do this to myself.

Anyway, they’re finished so let’s get started with the picture show. First the obsessive Contra-Auguste! To be honest I had to double-check the Wikipedia to see what is meant with Contra-Auguste:

Wikipedia – The contra-auguste plays the role of the mediator between the whiteface character and the auguste character. He has a lower status than the whiteface but a higher status than the auguste. He aspires to be more like the whiteface and often mimics everything the whiteface does to try to gain approval. If there is a contra-auguste character, he often is instructed by the whiteface to correct the auguste when he is doing something wrong.

I guess with that baseball bat it isn’t that hard to be convincing correcting whoever in being wrong..

Next guy is the Ringmaster. That’s easy to understand, he’s the just the guy in charge of the circus ring. One of the personal traits of the figure in the game is Elite, so he seems to be a bigger and more influential clown in the gang.

And finally the photo of the finished clowns so far. Nice guys, aren’t they? Joker will join the party quite soon..

And in the meantime I’m going to stick together the Batman figure, going to be not too difficult, me thinks..

Alex, you are right. The book is great. Fantastic pictures. But I think your pics with a little more Frank-Miller-Style will be better the pics in the book. Love your last paintings. Great.

The group shot are very scary
