Bois Des Caures Campaign
« on: 10 July 2015, 10:59:21 PM »

This report is a little tardy, but last Thursday James and myself kicked off our Bois Des Caures camapign using Chain of Command with the Mud and Blood and At The Sharp End supplements.

Advancing under the cover of the bombardment Leutenant Schmidt and his Stosstruppen attempt to eject Leutenant Robbin and his Chasseurs from the forward French positions.

Loads more pictures, a campaign summary, orders of battle and after action report over on Scrivsland

Great looking game - you've really captured the look.  :-*

Thanks!  We went light on the snow for a smaller club game, but will have the full set-up at the Barrage Show in Stafford tomorrow http://staffordwargames.wix.com/barrage  , so hopefully more reports soon.

Only because Tom Webster-Deakin showed me how to use the 'white balance' function on the camera!  (That and a mini-tripod) :)

I'm still struggling with that, it's nigh on impossible to set it correctly on my camera- not the camera's fault but rather my own as I cannot understand the obfuscating details in the manual!!  o_o o_o

Mine was simple but it's an old camera.  I should also add that many of the photos on the blog reports are also Scrivs', who's a bit of a whiz with a camera phone.

He's a bit of a whiz when it comes to painting copious amounts of mini's too!  8)

Thanks chaps.

Last Sunday James, Tom and myself played game two of on ongoing Chain of Command Bois De Caures campaign at the Barrage show in Stafford.

Following on from the capture of the French frontline in the previous game, Leutnant Schmidt pushes on while Leiutenant Robbin gathers his forces to defend the S7 strongpoint.

As usual, a full report and lots more photos on the Scrivsland blog

Peter and Simon joined James and I for the latest instalment of our Verdun 1916 campaign set during the opening days in the Bois De Caures.

Having captured poor Leiutenant Robin in the last game, winning the Iron Cross First Class in the process, Leutnant Schmidt now is tasked with assaulting the Chasseurs in the reserve line.
