Overwatch's Near-Future/Cyberpunk Project Log
« on: July 13, 2015, 11:25:16 PM »
Hello LAF!
I've been one of those long-time lurkers of this board for a couple of years but only very recently actually created an account. After a long time of having my scenery in storage I've finally had that creative spark to expand, repair and repaint it all. Starting with some newly acquired goodies. Therefore I thought why not force some of my creations onto the eyeballs of this friendly forum.
I originally went for a very clean-cut Sci-Fi vibe to a lot of my scenery (which can be found (clicky link thing) here on the old Infinity forums)
I've recently began to transform this into more of a dystopian, blade-runner come ghost in the shell with some cyberpunk thrown in there for good measure theme. I'll keep this thread updated with terrain and miniatures that I hamfist together and hopefully you'll find somewhat entertaining!
Just as a heads up, there are a few miniatures and things that may be considered NSFW and a bit adult-orientated.

Thanks for having me!
Here goes...

Government Special Forces Team (Currently WIP, need their bases finishing off and the final 2 members painting)

Police Mechanised AI Drone & APC

Police Interceptor

Ground Self Defence Army APC

Rebel "Black Scorpions" Hummer

Civilian Cars

City Maintenance Vehicle

Street Vendors (Alcohol and Backalley upgrades)

Street Food Vendor

Auto-Repairs

Dirty Plaza Fountain

I've got a multitude of Sarrisa Precision City Block, System Sci-Fi buildings, plus more from Warmill, Micro Art Studios, Antenocitis Workshop and more to paint up so I'll update as I go along!

Cheers all!

Nice stuff! :D Looking forward to seeing the oposing force infantry.

Are you going for a high-tec look for the oposing forces or more ragtag?

Thanks Raxxus!

I've got a multitude of opposition sorted. I've got a nice solid police force that are nearly complete made up of typical rookie officers going through SWAT teams right up to more Heavy Armoured Riot Police.

Facing off against them I've got typical Terrorists (Empress and Spectre miniatures), Yakuza-types (mishmash of various things), usual Cyberpunk street thugs and more! A wide mix of opponents and allies. :)

All brilliant stuff! Looking forward to more :)

The only thing I don't like is the fountain. Your painting of it is excellent, but it looks too MDF for me :|

Great stuff!

Thanks everybody!
I agree that the fountain is very MDF-y, I saw it and thought it would fit it's purpose as a bit of a side-scenery piece. Hopefully when surrounded by chairs, planters and various scatter terrain it'll blend in a bit more. :)

I'll be putting the finishing touches on my Police Officers and Swat unit tonight so I'll upload the pictures of those as well as local street "business lady".

As for the list of the above items here we go;
The Fountain, Street Stalls and Garage are from the TTCombat range of TheTrollTrader.
The Police AI Drone is a bendy plastic Gundam MS Frontier 1 Gashapon Figure. I've got another 2 of these in different poses which are almost complete.
The Civilian Cars are Norev 1/43 Peugeot 4002 Concept Car. (I personally prefer 1/43 scale cars, while the plastic military vehicle kits look out of scale, the smaller civilian stuff seems to fit nicely - I'll see about getting some pictures next to miniatures later.)
GSDA APC is an Old Crow APC, I've got the turret for it nearly complete too.
The Police Interceptor is a Mondo Motors Lamborghini Reventon 1/43 Scale, decals, sirens and a bit of blue paint added.
The Maintenance Vehicles I have no idea. It was purchased from a Bring and Buy. :)
Police APC is (I believe) from Westwind's Secrets of the Third Reich range.
The Hummer is a repainted Victoria US Hummer Army Ambulance 1/43.
The Government Special Forces are mostly Hasslefree Miniatures with headswaps and greenstuff apart from the cyborg-guy on the left. He's the limited edition Infinity Bounty Hunter miniature with a slight head conversion.

Phew!

Pure awesome,a ll of it!  8)

Any chance of a list of what's from where?

If I'm not mistaken, the Special forces team is all Hasslefree bar the leftmost mini, which is a limited edition Infinity Bountyhunter.

Some of the militairy vehicles look Old Crow-ish, but I know the two civilian cars are 1/43 concept cars (I know; I have 2 myself ;) ), and I believe that at least the vendor stands are Warmill's.

+++EDIT+++ Beaten to the punch by the man himself... :D

Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Lots of good stuff there. The special forces team and the grungy water in the fountain are particularly good.

Thanks again chaps!

A "Local business woman", again her base is still WIP until I can finally decide how I want to weather them up and the colour I want to paint the base rims.
She is a tad NSFW.

I've recently been working on a 6x4 mat to have printed up to use as the base for my games. Still not 100% sure on it just yet but I've attached the current state of it. Due to the picture being quite large I thought it best to send you off to view it rather than making this page load a hundred times slower. :)

Some excellent models here. The characters and the maintenance vehicle are my favorites. I think you should get a spinner model like this one :)
