Lightbox on the cheap
« on: 21 July 2015, 04:04:07 PM »
25€ worth of IKEA supplies (TJENA box and DIODER led strips) and a desk lamp: http://dawnofthelead.com/2015/07/21/bless-those-swedes-3/

Photo example:

Not much to do, really! Just attach the led strips, point the desk lamp (I suggest a daylight bulb) and you're all set.

Great idea. Would the top strips give better coverage as a second row on the sides (i.e. closer to the floor,) if you are getting plenty of light from the angle-poise above?

They actually might. Looking back, I don't know why I put the side rows so high up. I'm currently using another small box in the middle of the lightbox to boost the miniature up, closer to the side rows.

Just remember to go for a white light bulb on the desk lamp, as the led lights are quite yellow.
