Where can I get nice Treasure Tokens?
« on: 27 July 2015, 02:44:31 PM »
I stupidly didn't join the Nickstarter, so now I need to find some Treasure Tokens. I had hoped that the Nickstarter ones would be available from Northstar, but I haven't been able to find them so far - maybe I'm just being stupid again. So, has anyone got any suggestions where I can get some tokens from, or do I need to have a good rummage in my bits box and see if I can make my own?

Thanks.

I know Reaper do a few packs (in a variety of materials), as well as a few themed accessory packs - thrones, sarcophagi, etc, - which might be of interest for any objectives or set dressing.

Fenris Games also have a number of suitable bits as well.

Dark Art Studios have some here too.

Otherworld Miniatures have some too here.

Finally, it's pretty easy to make your own as chests, books, scrolls and coins are simple to make/find. You can also add gems (beads) and some baggage or pouches too. :)

Wow thanks for all of the suggestions. I'm also liking those home made ones. I'll have a look through and see what I like, and I think you'ce inspired me to have a rummage in the bits box too.

EDIT: I quite like the Dark Art Studios and Otherworld ones - Does anyone know if the Otherworld ones are separate or all one piece? The description doesn't say and I'm not sure based on the picture?

Thomarillion's worth a look - http://www.thomarillion.de/index.php?seite=katalog&modell=schatz_5erset&pos=1&sprache=gb_

As well as treasure piles, they do maps etc.

From looking at this, I'd say they are all separate.

For making coins, you can slice up some plastic rod, sprue, or unwanted plastic spears. Works quite well, and if you mix them with a little glue, you can get the piles of coins to look convincingly fluid*.

Your question reminded me of a website I found a long time ago:
http://abarothsworld.com/Tricks/treasures%20&%20trinkets.htm - A real "treasure trove" (HA!) of DIY tips and tricks!

Definitely browse their site a bit, they also made the Escher eternity stairs thing in real 3D with Hirst Arts blocks. It is pretty unbelievable!

In a cold, harsh wintery city I guess these can be seen as treasure too?

And the Tabletop World scenery is just insanely well sculpted and cast.
