One Hour Wargames: Scenario 4. The Eastern Front
« on: 01 August 2015, 10:48:04 PM »
It's tax free weekend in Arkansas so I had the house to myself today. So I set up this battle on the kitchen table. More pictures and a better report this time on my blog: http://wargamer1972.blogspot.com/2015/08/ww2-one-hour-wargames-second-world-war.html

The turn of death!

Soviet photograph of the battlefield later that day clearly showing the hill under German control.

Over the past couple of months we've had great fun playing the 'One Hour Wargaming scenarios/rules with Napoleonics. Haven't tried WW2, did you find them tense, good fuun and exciting as the turns wind down and make you take risks you wouldn't normally?
"Wot did you do in the war Grandad?"

"I was with Harry... At The Bridge!"

Yes especially towards the end with one of my tank units racing to occupy the hill before turn 15.

Yep, I've heard it said that the 15 turn rule make the scenarios too 'gamey'. I think it's a dead simple way of getting a taste of the pressure of command...

:( "Major take that hilltop now... or I'll find somebody to replace you who will!"  :(
