Lothlalian Alliance -- Elven Warband
« on: 10 August 2015, 05:18:00 PM »
So I'm building a new warband.  My first game was kind of a disaster, and I decided I didn't like the Summoner very much (Summon Demon is just way too hard to cast), so I decided to go a different direction and make an all Elf warband.  A major part of my decision is I already had three elves painted up to a very nice standard who were just waiting to be used in a game like this.

First up is my Wizard, Lothalian Anirion:

Next up is my Ranger, Nienna Springleaf:

And my Tracker, Arthal Nightblade:

The final initial warband will consist of Wizard, Apprentice, Ranger, 2 Trackers, Thief, 2 War Hounds with room for 2 Animal Companions.  A Witch, Lothalian's spells are:  Animal Companion, Control Animal, Mud, Enchant Weapon, Bones of the Earth, Leap, Fast Act, and Heal.  Because I think of these guys as White Hats, I'm defining Bones of the Earth as an "Entangle" spell that causes vines to grab at and hold enemies in place rather than skeletal hands. A big focus of the warband is movement -- we move faster than you (MV 7+ Soldiers, Leap, Fast Act), and we slow you down (Mud, Bones of the Earth).

When the warband is finished, it will use these models:

No big surprise, but that particular mini is -- according to one of Reaper's employees I talked to -- one of Reaper's all-time best sellers.  It's really an amazing miniature, one of Werner Klocke's best.

Nicely painted, and nice model selection with a nice theme running. It is hard to want more.

I like his work on Freebooter's Fate models. By the way, my future warband for Frostgrave (one of many).

These are great, really love the coherence. I've seen a fair few 'rag tag' war bands which I like  but have been swithering over that look or a tighter more coherent one. Yours is definitely swinging me towards the second!  :)

Good choices, and they match up very well together.  You do a nice job with the more subtle greens on the figures you have already painted.

Good luck with this band!
