OMG! So awesome! This is a fantastic idea.  Never got a chance to pick up the cult of the possessed and now I'm glad I didn't, as these look much better. I can't imagine a more appealing choice. (Incidentally, I personally would not buy yet another set of mercenaries/adventurers,  but this sets me frothing!)

Yes, the bodies of the Cultists, and the arm positions, are more 'Dramatic'. If the Soldiers were extras in a show, the Cultists are 'bit part' actors with a line or two. If that makes any sense.

Thanks.
Makes absolute sense, and a great way of thinking about it  :)

I reckon you would've done better to have a second box set of adventurers/mercenaries, to be honest.
Personally, I like the variety.  I'm sure a lot of these will be used right out of the box as henchmen for evil themed wizards.  The ability to mix and match with parts from the original henchmen box makes these even more useful, allowing more varients for everyone.

IMO of course.   ;)

Me Chaos scum plans just got pushed back a couple of months! Just going by the artwork, these look like they'd fit right in.

So... where can my wizard sell his soul to make these guys join him?

No really, where is Joe to tell us what do we have to do to claim the power of the Dark Side?! Would it be possible to use these cultists as soldiers along with regular wizards as we know them now? Where is Joe, the Mastermind, to tell us? :-)

I'd like to know if there will be a "good" aligned benefit or specialists.

Pardon me while I pick my jaw up from the floor...

Frostgrave mooks? D&D cronies? Pulp cultists? 40k frateris militia? Just like the last box, I'm going to get a lot of mileage out of this one.

These can be used for so many different genres, from Fantasy all the way up to Pulp and beyond.

I know my brother is already after some 'spare' sprue parts from the soldier box for making roleplay characters and NPC's. He'll go mad for these, too.
'Sir John ejaculated explosively, sitting up in his chair.' ... 'The Black Gang'.

You know what they need next is?  A box set just like the first one, but of female adventurers!  It would be great to be able to mix up our warbands, or even do all female warbands along with female wizards and I'm sure there would be a lot of interest in such a set for other uses outside Frostgrave, too.   8)

I would love to see a box of female adventurers as well.

I'm hoping for a plastic wizard/apprentice set.  Perhaps it could be a smaller kit in which you can only build 4 models, or perhaps up to ten.  Have a few robed bodies with the main selling point being the overload of heads, weapons, and bits that can be used to customize the wizards.  Perhaps it could be like the Games Workshop kit, but with a more generic fantasy aesthetic.

I can certainly see the use for something like this.

Although the Frostgrave plastics are a bit on the expensive side as plastics go these days, a set with lots of character and possibilities for customization will probably 'go like warm bread' if you'll allow me a 'Danism'.

I'm not hooked on the game, but nice models are always interesting, so I'll be watching this space to get a glimpse of the actual contents!
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!
