Fascinating to see that although these are digitally sculpted rather than putty, they are still recognisably Ernst's work - obviously his style crosses over well! Lovely stuff!

Yet another fantastic group of Crooked Dice miniatures that I will have to buy, then not paint because I don't want to screw them up. Some of your figures are so good, they're scary.

A question about the Despotic Dictator. What is he holding in his left hand?

Many thanks! It's a swagger stick with a very distinctive pommel. I'll share close up pics over the next couple of weeks.

I thought it was a voodoo doll. Or an Ann Summers remote control....maybe a femdroid control wand!

In particular, he's retained that sense of physicality, of the way real bodies mass and move, that digital sculptors often lose (as well as his way with a likeness, of course).
Back from the dead, almost.

I'm guessing the pommel is a skull?

I did think he looked a bit like Hugo Weaving. ;D

Great stuff. Like the guys were saying, you can hardly tell they were printed digital sculpts. Very good.

Are these going to have head variants?  I could really see the dictator with and African or a turbaned head option.

Head variants would be a GREAT idea.  That dictator does need an "Idi Amin" option (the hero archetypes could really use some more cultural variation as well!)

THANK YOU!! But even so, my first choice for a Dictator figure is either this fellow:

Or this fine despotic specimen:

These figures do rock! I can see more than one use for each of them across multiple genres. Excellent. 8)

He'd be a bit thin for Amin.  Have you seen Matakishi's "President for Life Hasira Kiboko"?  Probably a better starting point.

I like the president for life figure!  Thanks for sharing!  I always wanted to do a 1970's Africa game.  Maybe it will be a Dr. Who episode for our group.
