Empress and FNG Miniatures update.
« on: August 26, 2015, 08:52:23 AM »

The Red Star French Indo China range is now owned by our dear friend and US Empress distributor Steve Mynes of Age of Glory. Steve is now selling the range under the FNG Miniatures name and Empress will continue to sell the range and work with Steve to develop it further. Keep your eyes peeled for new releases in the future.

The latest new packs are now available in the Empress shop.

Must confess that this has become my project for the year and I have lots painted, but still to be based. The Empress office is now full of aquarium plants to make jungles and my paddy fields are now finished : )
Looking forward to adding these figures to my army.

Cheers,
Paul

Well...

Paul I would have been even more pleased if you got the range ownership... count me paranoid but after the mongrel affair I am loath of US producers... but on the other hand you will still carry it (I think I need to pillage you at SELWG) and it appears this time the US chap is reliable.

One wonders about red-star they start well and the just jump out of the boat...

Well, it is quite possible that they just got an offer they couldn't refuse  ;). Also, Age of Glory was already the US distributor for all Empress products and their affiliates, so it is not much of a change. I'm not entirely sure why you should be concerned who owns a company unless that person has a history of failure, which Steve from Age of Glory does not. I don't think that anyone buys a range of minis with the intent to pull them from the market and if they guy who bought Mongrel pulled them for no good reason, I'm sure that is the exception rather than the rule.

I told you I am a tad paranoid! A paranoid has the right to be concerned! lol  Actually I think a paranoid is usually always concerned... :D

But you know... it is a small market with small traders, I have started this project too... and let's say Pontonnier miniatures is one of my recurring nightmares... the other have to do with the neighbour from hell... but this is another story.

Nothing to fear. All is safe. We would not be involved otherwise. ;) Steve is our Agent and has been since we established so its only sensible that we become his for a change  lol

The manufacturing is still done here in Blightly and so to exactly the same standard safe and we are involved with supporting Steve in this and all projects. The rules are simple. The more you support ranges by buying into them the more they develop and remain safe.

Yes I will post my toys when I have finished the bases. Got the tall grass tufts today. Just need the time to finish them.

Great news as far as I am concerned. Might have to looking into this range, now that it is more flushed out.

Great news - and the urge to dip a toe into this period is almost unavoidable...... I was toying with idea of WW2 Burma but, somehow, this seems even more interesting? Tempting, so very tempting.

Any chance of some bog standard infantry in M1947 uniforms? Separate heads so we can use them for Moroccans, Algerians, French or Vietnamese? Unadorned steel helmets would do.

Thee was also some mention early on of the prospect of some additions to do the latter part of the Algerian war. It would really only require an additional pack or two. One with MAS59/57 rifles and one with the AA52 machine gun.

Hi All,

I have big plans for FNG Miniatures in the new year.  Vietnamese troops serving with the French are among them.  I am also looking at infantry in non-para uniforms.

Paul Hicks will continue to sculpt the range, and as Paul from Empress indicated, casting will remain with Griffin, so you may expect the same quality and detail as in the existing sets.

Now off to more research...

All the Best,

Steve

Yes, that is wonderful news. It's a great range and one that deserves expanding.
