Honestly these things are so cheap I probably just need to order one of all of them sooner or later, and play full thrust on my living room floor.

What size are these things. I've clicked on the link, but it only talks of 'package' sizes!

If the boxes are fairly small (a few inches) then the hulls are usually just a little bit shorter than the box (split in half along the length). If the boxes are the larger ones then the hull might be split in two across the beam or another suitable joint.

I could be totally wrong though

The Yamato has always been on my must build list but never got round to buying any of the models as they had a kings ransom for the asking price. If they are a smaller scale I'm just a bit concerned about small parts that could easily bend or break off. I'm very interested to see what else will be released in the range.

Never fully understood the TV show. I mean I get it but why build your last hope in a WW2 ship wreck. It's like building an orbital shuttle out of a Rodin Reliant three wheeler car.

It varies. The Mecha Colle (mechanical collection) kits are "box scale" - whatever size best fits in the box. The Cosmo Navy destroyer kit scales out to 1/820 while the Cosmo Navy battleship scales out to 1/2000. The more expensive series of 2199 kits are all 1/1000 scale.

I'm ever so close to finishing my first pair of DDG-110s for a Silent Death conversion to Yamato 2199 (they'll be up against a pair of Mecha Colle Cosmo Zeros to start with). I ran to ground the data for the DDG-110 and they're apparently inspired by the WW2 era BF-110. The DDG-110 packs two 7.9mm, two 13mm, and four (4!!!) 47mm autocannons in addition to up to six guided missiles, so this particular Garmillas interceptor is meant to bring down some pretty big game apparently.

I do appreciate the DDG-110s passing resemblance to a pterosaur BTW. I should hopefully have some photos up on our Silent Death Instagram page next week, and from there some demo game AARs for the MX Forum. Stay tuned...

I've got something similar planned, though I haven't settled on a rule set yet. I'm looking forward to hearing how your game plays out. I've got a Cosmo Zero, a pair of Cosmo Falcons, and a pair of DWG 262s (courtesy of the 1/1000 scale Gamilas ship set #3). When the HLJ order I placed today arrives, I'll have another Cosmo Zero and the two DDG 110s.

By the way, if you're interested in even smaller scale fighters, the 1/1000 Yamato kit comes with sixteen Cosmo Falcons and two Cosmo Zeros, while the Gamilas carrier kits come with fighters and attack craft (the one I'm eyeing has 21 DDG 109 fighters and 21 DMB 87 dive bombers), all in scale with the capital ships.

Oh, I know the models well enough as to their features. I can't see using such teeny tiny fighters except perhaps to base them in tactical elements for Full Thrust, however. I need fighters that are either an inch long at least, or Mecha Colle box scale sized to work for Silent Death...
