The Others - 7 Sins Kickstarter - Source of Lovecraftian Monsters
« on: September 11, 2015, 06:57:10 PM »
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/coolminiornot/the-others-7-sins

A Kickstarter for upcoming horror game The Others kicked off yesterday.  The boxset contains a nice amount of Lovecraftian monsters and more are being unlocked via stretch goals.

Quote
The Others: 7 Sins is a horror board game for 2 to 5 players. One player controls one of the 7 Deadly Sins, employing monstrous incarnations of these corruptive forces in an attempt to consume the world and bring about the apocalypse. The rest of the players cooperate as heroes of the F.A.I.T.H. organization who will attempt to fight back the invasion!

This project is another collaboration involving the same team that created the smash hit Blood Rage: Eric Lang, who also designed other highly acclaimed games such as Chaos in the Old World, Arcadia Quest, and Dice Masters; Guillotine Games, the developers of the popular Zombicide series; Studio McVey, responsible for some of the best miniatures in board games today; and the amazingly evocative art of Adrian Smith, as well as other great artists such as Karl Kopinski, Stefan Kopinski, Paolo Parente, Miguel Coimbra, Jacopo Camagni, Richard Wright, and Georges Clarenko.

I'd love to see an option to just buy the minis!

They are great looking.  I wonder if they'll look that good.  I still have Sedition Wars sitting on my shelves, looking sad.

Unfortunately CMON won't offer a miniatures only pledge level and are unlikely ever to do so in the future.

CMON have shown us production copies of the miniatures and I believe they are production ministers shown on the main campaign page (and I linked above) for the sloth, pride, he'll club, acolytes and heroes at least (stretch goal police men I am not certain about).  Whilst studio McVey provided sculpts the production is being provided by CMON who have become very experienced in providing excellent quality miniatures over the last couple of years.

These look great!

If the exchange rate wasn't so awful right now, I'd be all over this.

On a side note, does anyone else get put off by the whole "Early Bird" thing?

I'm going to keep an eye on this, if they add a few more stretch goals, it will be too good to pass up.

Cheers.

I backed this, kind of regret missing Titan Forge's Asylum KS but I was out of town when the deadline passed.

I was very torn on Asylum and passed in the end.  May regret that (or may not given the issues with their previous KS campaigns).

The current $100 pledge is looking like this -

and heres whats coming up as the next Stretch goals -

Lust Controller -

Lust Abominations -

and finally the Lust Avatar herself -

The only additional purchase so far is an art book with short stories -

I have to say, I'm also very impressed with their pricing!

30 dollars for that expansion, which has 18 miniatures plus other goodies?  That's downright reasonable.

I  was really surprised at the price as one of last years campaigns had $20 addons only containing 4 miniatures (unique sculpts).  This is an extra 14 minutes (8 extra sculpts) plus gameplay bits for only $10 more.

(Apologies if the maths is wrong, still half asleep)

The only thing I think the expansion could have benefited from was an extra story card or two just to add a little more variety. Very minor complaint though considering the price.

Lust locked in.

Only wrath, gluttony and envy left. Wrath and gluttony are easy to represent in miniature... But envy?

I'll wait and see how the KS develops (so far, so good).

The pricing is actually pretty reasonable. Hurts a bit when you add exchange to USD from Canadian.

I bought the production model of Pride from GenCon last year and let was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the plastic, cleaned up really nicely and had very few mold lines in the first place, holds the detail really nicely. The plastic is not to soft and paints up really nicely. My thread is here, http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=75855.msg927576#msg927576

The plastic quality of the minis in the first three Zombicide games was decent. It holds detail well. I expect that level of quality should be present in this game too.
