Finally got my first game in, and much fun it was to (against another new player).
Much as I'd be happy to use most of the house rules from the Bad.Karma site, the guy that's likely to run the campaign wants to keep it realitively simple for the first time round, so the only rules we've added is that a game last 5 turns, with a 50% chance of a 6th turn, and if the game ends you get any treasure off the board as normal, if one of your models is carrying a treasure but still on table you get it on a 50%. Unclaimed treasure is lost.
It was a really fun game, lots of failed rolls and impossible rolls. Highlight had to be my thief that had been taken down to 1 wound (we use the Wounded rule, but not the Critical hit), charged into my opponents wizard (no combat). In my opponents phase his archer moves into combat and attacks the thief - thief rolls a 20, wins the combat and pushes the archer out of combat. The wizard then attacks (2h weapon), thief again rolls a 20, wins the combat, and pushes the wizard into the open where he's skewered by a crossbow.
