Em dezembro de '81
Botou os ingleses na roda
3 a 0 no Liverpool
Ficou marcado na história
E no Rio não tem outro igual
Só o Flamengo é campeão mundial
E agora seu povo
Pede o mundo de novo

I bought some of the original Brits in Aden and was impressed with them (as is usual with Kosta's work).
Cheers,

Are opposition planned?

I'd intended to use mine for Borneo, but got a bit of a bollocking from the father-in-law for trying to use figures with their sleeves rolled up.  ::)

Brilliant sculpts,I think these could also be used for Mau-Mau revolt. you need to do a Idi Amin figure in Glengarry. That would be awesome.Maybe you could do some w/ Tam O'Shanters.

Apropos of not much, I used to work for an (semi official UK) organisation that used to supply Idi with his bling, toilet rolls and malt whisky (via a monthly Hurley bird trip) Not many people know that...

You still can. The preponderance of photos from the period shows troops with sleeves rolled. The only, minor issue,is that the figures are wearing boots and putees rather than jungle boots but personally, I've let that slide. I have a platoon in jungle green for Borneo, Brunei,Belize and my fictional Caribbean colony and a platoon in khaki for Aden and Kuwait.

The original figures, could be used for Kenya but only really for the last year/ months of the war.

There's a rumour of a possible Landrover and crew for the Argyles. Personally, I'd love to see a 'Mad Mitch' figure. I'd also like to see one or two figures ore suited to FLOSY ot the NLF, maybe pistol or SMG armed bomb throwers. Hopefullu, there might be some beret wearing variants at some point.

As for opposition, there's a range of tribesmen already available. One or two would make reasonable urban types, especially the Sten gunner. Others can be gleaned from the ZANLA guerillas and some other ranges like Artizan. I've done a small platoon of rebels for the Brunei revolt by converting a variety of figures including a number of Eureka's Vietnam range, their footballers and one or two from the ZANLA range. Traditional SE Asian songkok hats are simply Wargames Factory Russian heads in sidecaps.

I dunno Carlos, fathers-in-law tend to be less easy to convince in my experience :)

Great figures, I like these far more than the first batch.

Nice figures.  Will probably buy some for nostalgia - a small point about the radio operator (I was one back then) - the Sterling SMG should not be held by the magazine but around the perforated barrel cover.  Unless he is fitting the magazine?

Also they are Argylls - Argyle is the pattern (and the very old spelling of Argyll)

Quite right. Silly and quite inexplicable error. Maybe I was thinking of socks.

As for irate father's in-laws and their memories:

Now that's a proper mortar team! None of your three figures as crew malarky.  ;)

As for the Sterling, you could hold it by the mag... if you weren't planning on using it.  :)
