Reich of the Dead, new Reaper Miniatures Range!
« on: 13 November 2008, 09:44:57 PM »
Hi there,
I have found this while looking for some Chronoscope Minis:

reaper`s got a new Miniatures Range for the WWWII genre, think there are some good minis in it ;)

http://www.reapermini.com/store/customer/home.php?cat=141

only two examples:

What do you think about it?
- Well, the GIs aren´t the best ones, but these zombies are looking realy nice :)

Greetings ;)

They do really look nice, even if dynamic zombies are quite different fluff-wise from what I'm used to. They look somehow like fallout's ghouls or "the wretched" from MDRG.

I have a couple of these on my paint table. They fit better with Artizan than I had feared they might. So far I've seen three or four packs of nazi zombies and three packs of US troops available.

They're nice, but Reaper doesn't seem to be too interested in making a variety of poses for them. At least not yet.

Do like these.

Shuffling Narzi with MP's...not a good thing.

'Bit oversized fer me.  I saw them uplcose at Origens and they were heroic scale.
Plus they're undead with guns, not the shambling hordes. Perhaps an Egyptian curse or something motivates them.

Rather nice, but Nazi zombies are soo cliché.

Why, oh why does almost every manufacturer only make German zombies? Thinking about things logically, the obvious choice for zombies should be POWs. So lets pester our favourite manufacturers to produce some zombies in allied uniforms without weapons or equipment. Some Soviets would be especially nice.

Hum...maybe you know this all already and I missed a cleverly disguised reference, but...

Well, as mentioned, I have the Russian WW2 zombies here.
--
My immediate financial thought is not to cast the Russians at all. As much as I love you guys, I'm in no place right now for 28mm scaled charity.
--
Basically, if you're after Russian Zombies, put a post on this thread and let me know how many packs you'd probably want. These aren't binding orders. Just trying to get an idea of what size production run to do. Or if I should do it at all.
--
Well, they've gone off to be cast.

The zombies in question:

So they will be available soon, but only luckily and barely. If you want to see more of this in the future, maybe you should order a pack of five.

I would certainly be interested. How large are these zombies, compared with say Artizan or Copplerstone?

I have no side-by-side comparison pics, but they should be very similar to the Germans, which are "31mm to top of head".

My German zombies are a perfect match for Copplestone figs - I don't have a side-by-side, but I'm going to use this as a blatant excuse to repost a pic of the ones I painted, as Steve Buddle said he's going to release the German Leader I've got here*, at the same time as the Russian Zombies.

* Steve kindly sent me a master cast of this mini, for being the first to buy a hoard of these undead chaps!

Not all of us make Germans here we have some late war US Airborne.  These are our first set of many zombies.  31mm to top of head.  Next are a set of SS Grenadiers then a set of British Airborne then probably some Russians after we do our official Lost Squad sets.
