I have finally got enough figures painted, some of my own and some from Jeff, as well as terrain to stage my first M&T game. The scenario was a simple one - Raid the Settlement.
The settlers were first alerted when a group of indian started firing from the woods surrounding the settlement. The local militia soon formed up and started returning fire.

The other militia group took up a position in the fields, whilst their womenfolk headed for the safety of the blockhouse.

The firing had alerted the local Provincial unit who emerged from the blockhouse to support the settlers. No sooner had they done so than they were engaged by a Canadian Militia unit lying in wait.

Forming a firing line they held off the Canadians to allow the women to rush to the blockhouse.

So far the British were holding off the French, who seemed content to snipe at long range. Then as the British reinforcments arrived the French sprung their trap. A Provincial unit was ambushed and almost wiped out by an indian war party in a single turn.

Another war party had snuck up behind the blockhouse and fleeing women rushed straight into their arms.

Yet another warband started to set fire to the houses.

Things were looking very bad for the British, with the militia hemmed by attackers on both flanks, most of the Provincials dead and the remainder pinned in the blockhouse and their womenfolk captured and being led off to slavery. Then the Rangers arrived!

And promptly got tomahawked.

As the Rangers entered the village a warband charged into their flank and cut down half of one company and some of a second. This check allowed the rest of the French to escape, dragging their captives with them and leaving the village burning.

All in all a very enjoyable game, although being the first time we had played it, there were some mistakes in interpreting some of the rules, but none that detracted from the game.
