My Brits sofar!
« on: November 17, 2008, 05:08:05 AM »
Well folks, I've just finished the last 19 figures I required to equip 6 platoons of infantry with 1 officer, 2 SNCOs and 17 ORs (this includes a lewis). Leroy painted the majority in the past before he found full-time employment an I needed to get into painting.

This works in with Sword in the Flames, however we have adapted it slightly to provide a little firmer leadership. There was a variant brought out facilitating WW1 gaming.

Folks who aren't aware of this rule set. For every 2 platoons there is a company commander and aide and for every 4 platoons there is a battalion commander and aide.

You could by all means upgrade the platoon to company or battalion and look at larger formations which would work under this rule set.

As you can see I need loads of officers and NCOs. Lon where is the British command pack in shorts that I and many others have suggested?

Hope you like.

Helen

Best wishes,
Helen

Lovely work.
A fully painted army looks great, I am very jealous. I wish I had the conviction and patience to complete a full army but my attention always gets pulled away to my latest idea or new shiny model.
Particularly like the heavy weapon teams.
I don’t think the lack of shorts makes the officers look out of place. They should be better dressed, setting an example to the plebs.

I'm jealous, and wish like gamer Mac just wish I had the necessary length of concentration necessary to complete a project, let alone an army.
Great work.
Cheers.  :o

Helen, I'm really impressed with the way you pump out mini's.  Do you dip or wash at all?

Thankyou, There's no dipping or wash used on the figures. Sometimes I'll use a wash, but that is mainly black for underscoring.
I'm still progressing with my painting style.

Thanks to all for their lovely comments.

Very nice army!

If I am correct: I counted 166 figures in these photos!

Good work.  Lots of hours well spent.

The Sword and Flame WW1 organisation is very similar to WH The Great War.
The Great War has an extra man in the command teams.
