I don;t know more, [in fact is the first time I hear of them] but I see some notes on Bachman.
They are a well know german railroad accessories etc manufacturer. So, try any railroad modelling store and might find something. Maybe the german LAFers have something more to say?

I've been looking them up and Googling. Apparently they are used with fake flowers. Make the flowers, fill a pot with stuff and put that over the top, then the flower goes through it so it looks like it's in grass. Haven't found any in europe that look like that though.
So many projects..... so little time.......

I discovered these a while back and saw great potential in them. The ones I found are a very rish texture and shade.

How much is pricey? - at the above link they are quoted as US$3. If you compare that to the cost of, for instance, Silflor, I think you'll find it a bargain..?

If anyone has access to these (at a reasonable price), I might be very interested to get someone to send me some - I'll cover all expenses, of course, I have Paypal!

EDIT:

Im looking at www.michaels.com right now, but I cannot find any...  :?

I had bought maybe three of these before, but I was only intending to throw them on the table as patches of rough grass covered ground.  Those model train links really show that more can be done with these.

After seeing this thread I went back to Michaels and bought a couple more of the six inch size.  I couldn't find anything to identify the source or original manufacturer.  The label just says that it's distributed by Michaels and that the product is made in China.  I guess if some miniature terrain company wanted to have patches of static grass glued onto fabric or some other base by Chinese workers, then maybe a factory could be found to do that.  And maybe colors other than bright green could be used.

I paid $2.99 US for the six inch pot toppers, and the four inch size costs $1.99 US.  Michaels stores are crammed with products that do not appear on their web site.  Maybe if there is a way to email the company Michaels would let you order a pile of these pot toppers to be shipped to Europe.  This looks like a product that was made specifically for Michaels, and in the store it is placed next to round clay flower pots with six and four inch diameter tops.

Well, $3 plus postage for 6" is very reasonable!  :)

As stated - if anyone over there will buy some and send me, I'd be much obliged - and if somebody volunteers, I'll ask some of my gaming buddies if they want some, too (no reason not to make a reasonably sized bundle/package while we're at it  ;)  ).

I have Paypal (make sure to overcharge me a bit to cover packaging), or we could make some arrangement where I order something you want in exchange for you.

I bought some for myself, some guys here in town.

I have (4) - 4 inch Pot Toppers if you want them.

Just PM me.  Yes, I thought about you while I was buying them.
