Thanks James  :D

The trouble I had with flow is that it's directional, whereas the tiles are omni-directional: the water having to work in both directions. With this in mind I went for turbulence rather than flow.  There are also a couple of tiles that aren't so turbulent, so instead of lots of teased peaks, there's much less of the white stuff and what there is is rounded/flattened for odd bits of residual foam. That was my thinking.  :)

One can only admire the thoughtfulness behind the execution.

Why thank you DG  :). (Though my wife would say that I more often over think  :D)

I wasn't going to post up this stage but the addition of the trees (albeit temporary, as they remove from their plugs) adds another set of colours and shapes to the overall mess of the countryside, to some extent breaking up the browns, greys and white.

As mentioned previously, there are only 10 trees with the tallest at 105mm: not made by me, I've merely added the plugs.

Also provides a better view of the ford, showing the changing depth of the water:

And a whole table shot, just to tie it all together:

In the next set of images it'll be much greener, as it will have been flocked.

The trees work for me, they're got a nice colouration and form.

Blackadder: Yes indeed, Percy, except that it's not really a nugget but more of a splat.

Yep, the green has been splatted on:

After the glue has cured it'll lose a fair amount of the coarser stuff but the end is in sight with just tweaking, tufts, rushes and bushes to add (though the inside of the inn awaits titivating).

You're a remorseless terrain building machine.

Love what you're doing here with your modular sections.

Noodling on something like this - but a bit down the road. Got enough irons in the fire at the moment.

I just wonder how happy you are with using wood glue for the main body of the water?
Its really difficult to tell ( from the photos ) just how much 'depth' there is in it??
I know your river was never meant to be deep, but is it properly 3D? If you know what i mean?

I only ask as iv'e been looking at various scenic resins and water products for a board i'm about to start construction on and using a gallon or so of wood glue would save a very serious amount of money....
Money can't buy you happiness but it does bring you a more pleasant form of misery.

I'm with Dilettante Gamer. Its bad enough I have to focus on painting figures without being distracted by the results of some inspirational terrain building! Looking great and very jealous!
