Knight Models: Legends
« on: 21 October 2015, 06:11:34 PM »
Knight Models are 'teasing' their new line, which, according to their Facebook page:

"This brand is intended to be used to release new ranges of special models and awesome stuff for Batman Miniature Game and projects in the future."

Then they posted this little teaser:

I'm assuming thats going to be painted dark....very dark....

There was some more stuff in Spanish that I'm pretty sure translated to:

"YOU ARE ABOUT TO GO BROKE"  ;D ;D ;D

Ah the Arkham Knight Batmobile!
  8)
I am really not getting the KM marketing strategy.  ??? ::)
Why put an expensive resin product on the market when there are already good and (presumably) cheaper cars around.

cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - https://www.adpublishing.de

For those that have product loyalty and the "Got to catch them all" mentality of some collectors.
Looking for a set of rules that adaptable for different genres.

*raises hand sheepishly*

I do already have the Hot Wheels one, but I'm very interested in the quality, scale, and of course price of these items....

Why buy an iPhone when there are identical cheaper ones?
The name.  Some folks just live for the name brand.

Also, there are no doubt a segment that are aware of KM stuff, but don't realize there's anything else out there.
That happens a lot with GW stuff, but I guess I don't see why it can't happen with KM too.

It does look like a nice model, though I'm not in love with the design.  Quality work, certainly.

My biggest gripe with this (and I admit it's early days) is not the model. It's the accompanying info from the Arkham Asylum post stating that the products will only be available through the Knight Models web store.

I've only ordered from their store once. I won't be doing it again. As I posted on the official BMG forum it's nothing to do with the service or the product, but the exchange rate, shipping and VAT that gets added on top of the prices. While KM currently does offer free shipping if you order enough product, conversion from CAD to Euro is not kind, and VAT of 21% is over 4 times what I pay in goods and services tax on local purchases.

Quite frankly with the already high prices on their models (yes I understand they're more because of licensing fees blah blah blah), this feels like a bad decision. I'm sure the products themselves will be lovely and the European market will probably love them... Leaving North America and the rest of the world out by making them web-store only just seems short-sighted to me.

I'd agree with that completely...

I guess I didn't realize that they'd be webstore only.

I ordered the BMG rulebook thru their store (because I REALLY wanted the Joker Cover) and that cost me quite a bit.

I did see that this was going to take place in conjunction with the revamping of the web site....maybe there are some changes being made too.

I sure hope so.

It would be very nice if they had a North American shipping partner. I know Cool Mini stocks their minis. How hard could it be to buy it on their website and have someone else ship it?

Yes there are some positives to be had from that, most notably a revamped KM website. Their existing one is functional but does not provide a wonderful shopping / browsing experience. I'm sure their updated one will be great.

There are a few distributors in Canada now that are stocking limited amounts of product. If the KM Legends stuff are online only though, it'll remain largely unavailable or unobtainable for folks outside of Europe.

I'm waiting for the price before I start to rave over it.

The Batmobile is a bit of an odd choice as there are so many out there already which are in scale with the minis.

I guess all you will need to make a good 3X3 table to play on is the Arkham Asylum package some scatter terrain on the ground. Depending on the price, I might get in on that!
