Do you feel it's much more difficult to balance these more asymmetric games, than the more equal setups of the earlier Epic game? (Well, Epic miniatures game) Or would it take just a bit more tinkering?
All Quiet On The Martian Front is very asymmetrical, and the way we play is to keep the armies scaled to a size that only takes 60-75mins to play through the scenario, then swap sides and play from the other end! Player with the most VP/casaulties/whatever in aggregate wins.
It certainly doesn't solve the problem that with only 6 models bad luck hurts more, but at least both players have to deal with that issue on the way to finding your victory. Just a thought.
I stumbled here because I really want to get my hoard of tyranids out to play a Starship Troopers style bug hunt and can't face opening 40k again. I shall give Laserstorm a look! Thanks!
