Nice, thank for sharing those.
What's the book?
you're welcome Emir...the book is a reedition, probably from late Sixties , of a contemporary memoir by one of the "thousands" that made all the campaign up to Volturno with Garibaldi..if i remenber well it should be an officer...anyway the book is at home..at the momenti i'm in front of another PC..i'll let you know the title..frome this same source there is a collection of very accurate, also if a little bit naif, watercolours..similar to those posted...the rest of this collection should be the Risorgimento Museum del Vittoriano in Rome...but i suppose nobody knows where...i'm lucky to have picts of them also in a colour magazine of late 1960..so , time permitting, i'll post there....
The drawing also if naifs, as i said before, are in my opinion very accurate..in one of the picts i posted before you can detect single real episodes of the battle..wounded personalities..Bixio on horse..capturing of the flag...and, among others, if you you see the image at higher proportion..the retreating Neapolitans are, in fact, Cacciatori in overcoat..they are even sporting a small yellow guidon with their emblem sorting from the barrel of a carbine
