15mm Frostgrave?
« on: 25 November 2015, 08:55:41 PM »
I was thinking of Frostgrave in 15mm and I was wondering if anyone has tried it and changed any distances, etc?  With Splinetered Lights doing a sale, I may breakdown and just buy some figures for a couple of warbands.

I've got a bunch of mini's sat on my desk waiting to be painted.I think you could just use cm instead of inches if you wanted to save space.
never trust a horse, they make a commitment to shoes that no animal should make.

I'm working on 15mm myself.  Mainly Sintered light figures so far. I plan to use 1/2 inch incriments instead of inches.  I like the ease of storage so far,  but need more variety of.figures.  I am  uulding 3-6 warband so I can host games without players having to buy I .  First game is tomorrow.

I play lot of game with my 15mm miniatures instead of 25mm. At each time I use 1,5cm (15mm) for one inch in 25mm scale.
it work well.
I thinks only 1cm instead of one inch is too short and it's too dificulte to touch and move the miniatures.
1,5 by inch is a very good compromise.

For exemple, a 25mm table 36"x36" (90cmx90cm) will be a 15mm table 54cmx54cm.
With this exemple, you could see that, if you take 1cm for 1", a game table 36cmx36cm is very too little. No place for your big fingers :D

It's easy to remerber, 1" (2,54cm) for 25mm minature and 1,5cm (15mm) for 15mm miniatures.

But if you've got some problems with metric system, I belive you coud choose 1/2" for one in 15mm scale. It should work weel too.

I also play most of my games in 15mm instead of 28mm and would be very interested to hear more about how you guys do it. I wasn't sure a warband game like Frostgrave, with it's low figure count and highly individualised figures, would work well for the scale, but I've been thinking about trying it… so bring on the images & AARs  :)

We had a test game last weekend with three players (our first game) and started out using 0.5 inches for scale.  After two turns we still had not covered much space and had to jump the scale up to regular 1 inch distances.  Granted, the table was large, 30 INCHES or so a side.

I was a little worried that full scale would look bad,  but it played well with full scale and 1 inch measurements.  I might eventually make a 20mm pace measuring stick or two to try out something in between the two.

Unfortunately no pictures even though I was not playing, but modetating.
