Monster Castle!
« on: December 04, 2015, 04:50:26 PM »

Took a couple of evenings off to paint these guys, was lacking some random encounters and think they give the game another dimension.

Bear, banshee, boar and rats - Otherworld Miniatures
Spider - Reaper Bones
Floating Sack Monster - Heresy Miniatures
Wraith - Nickstarter addition
White Gorilla- Frostgrave Official (North Star)

(and you can get them all here! http://thedicebaglady.net/monsters/)

The tower is a GW one, I didn't paint it, just re purposed for a cool photo!

Cheers
Annie

lol, this post makes me feel so dumb.  Not once did it ever occur to me to paint my Frostgrave bears as polar bears, but once you see it it's so obvious a choice.

Really brilliant, absolutely love it.

Why? Regular bears live in temperate climates. As far as I am aware, Felstadt isn't necessarily placed near either Poles. Both are fine!

Cheers!

I didn't want to paint him brown after I'd just completed the rats and boar, so figured white would be quite nice. It was only after I checked and the model is listed as black bear, oops! Black would have been a good contrast.

I haven't had much time off lately, so figured monsters and animals was good as not too difficult, and quick results! I just want to do more and more now though  :D

Although all are very well done, I like the paintjobs on the bear and boar the best. :D

They all look great. Filing the stock of random encounter beasties is the next project for myself.
I'm particularly disturbed by the floating bladder thing.

They look all amazing. Really excellent paintjobs. I especially like the ice bear. The fur has a nice naturalistic appearance with the yellow/beige tones.
