I am thinking of doing a simple tutorial on how I paint my faces, for those interested... They come out rather nicely these days and it is super simple.

Lovely archer Daniel. Really nice fabric tones, variety but in the same hue, but different enough to be interesting. His little face is nice too :-*

I also go the wash and drybrush method, what heretics we are hahaha

Cheers
Matt

Love it.  Best paint job I've seen for this model's face.   I guess I picked the wrong body for this archer.. seems like the body you chose is popular for the archer

I chose this body for my archer (this isn't my mini.. some mini off google images)  I also chose the bow arm but I chose the head that you used on your mini.

I don't remember giving the body type much thought, other than I didn't want the same body and/or face for the same type of henchman. I wouldn't worry about it too much if I were you. They all look good, they don't seem specifically made for a specific type.

It's a lot of fun making unique ones :)  I suppose I should get the cultist one just for the option of having some more bodies and perhaps the cultist pack has a dagger in the primary hand?  Dont' really care for the hooded heads though.

But the pointy hoods might grow on me.. not for a warband though I guess..  I actually don't know their purpose yet because I don't have the expansion.

I promised you guys a tutorial for painting faces, and I had some time off today, so I went ahead and created one.

You can find it over here:

I hope it will prove useful to you! And feel free to join the forum and drop a comment. >_<

And while I was at it;

I figured I'd give zooming in a little bit a try. Do you prefer the zoomed in pictures, or are the pics from slighty further away better?

Another henchman - I may have to give his moustache a bit more paint... Didn't notice until now.

And a tracker

Great looking miniatures. How did you do the bow strings? It is a nice finishing touch.

Thank you!

The bowstring is just a piece of thread. I cut off a bit, leaving enough to wrap around. First, I used super glue to attach both ends to the bow. Then, I had to wait for it to dry, but since I am severely impatient I went on with step two too soon, and added another drop of superglue to the ends and wrap the loose ends around three times.

It is best to use a tweezer for that, but I was too lazy to get up so I used my fingers... Not smart... Anyways, I cut off the remaining loose ends and that was that. Perfect bowstrings. I am sure there are better methods out there, but I always make do with what I have. Jennifer's example picture shows probably a better way to do it, but whatevz...

Not sure if I like the blue with the rest, but hey, not everyone can have fashion sense, right?

I like the close ups shots better, but then I do browse more on my smart phone.

I like the latest archer and 2 handed knight. 8) nice poses and good colour choices.

Cheers
Matt
