My Summer Project: Barbarians completed.
« on: December 21, 2015, 01:12:43 AM »
Yes being in the southern hemisphere it makes this a summer project  ;D
I cleared out my paint station which needs doing every now and then as I dump all sorts of project things on there and my wife and kids dump things on there that need fixing with glue etc.
After clearing away all the debris I found a lot of half-painted projects that have had my enthusiasm with them wane over time. I'm planning on finishing all these projects this summer. I have about 6 weeks to get everything done which I hope should be enough time.

Here is a pic of everything.

and what's left to do after I've been painting (updated pic after posting below)

So what do I have?
FANTASY STUFF
15 Barbarians and 2 Barbarian giants + another giant for the project that is from a different range. (18 minis)
4 Tre Manor Orcs, (22 Minis so far)
8 ungor 1 Cyclops, 1 Warthog man. Most of these just need shields painted and attached or small bits painted (32 minis)
1 Plague cart and Ox, 2 undead archers, 2 undead warriors, 1 wraith, 1 mounted zombie lord, 1 skeletal dwarf, I undead Ogre (41 minis)
15 kobolds and 1 mounted kobold (57 minis, oh my, getting in over my head)
Koschei the Deathless (58)
Zombie Dragon (59)

2 Trolls (61)
4 Half Orcs (65)
1 Marsh Dragon (66)
2 evil sorcerers (68)

Basilisk (69)
Random troll of unnkown origin (70)
1 giant spider (71)
1 Guard (72)
1 stone elemental/golem (73)
1 dragon skull (74)

SCI FI STUFF
1 Warzone legion mini (75)
1 Dr Totenkranz (76)

Okay so quite a few minis to do. A lot of the stuff is started so shouldn't take too long...

I'll start with the mostly painted stuff first so that I can see a dent in this and get things cleared away quickly. Hopefully after this project is done I'll get into a system of finishing things before starting another (that probably won't happen)

EDIT: 2 Hordes Farrow found as well (78)

11 minis down. 67 to go.

10 beastmen completed. All these needed doing were the shields, some touch ups and the bases so were very easy.

1 Marsh Dragon completed. The base needed doing and I coated it in gloss varnish to make it look gooey like a marsh dragon should be. I thinned down some Tamiya Clear Red with some gloss varnish to put on the teeth. I don't have a suitable base for this guy so he's baseless at the moment and will likely stay like that.

 :) Cheers mate,

Here's the next lot of progress. A small bunch of undead done. These only had the bone base colour done on them so needed a bit of work. Most was finished a couple of days ago as I was out all day yesterday and just did a small amount of touch ups last night.

This wraith is on that I had for a long time, sold then found them again on Ral Partha Europes site so had to buy one.

I love this old corpse cart. It's one of the first GW minis I bought. I remember then buying the Undead Army book and being disappointed that there weren't rules for the corpse cart in it.
And the group shot.

Next is the Tom Meier Zombie Dragon and the Heresy Dark Lord.

:) I hope so. Thanks for the comment.
Next up will be the grenadier barbarians. Then probably the kobolds. That will put a mighty dent into it.

You have some a lot of minis to get through.  :)

I was in Napier over Christmas, but I spent most of my time visiting vineyards.  :o

Lol, yep that's probably the best thing to do around these parts. Still more of a beer man myself.

Barbarians done (except for 1 hero which never got started with the rest). I'm calling these the Happy Birthday troupe as the banner aptly reflects this. I was going for a bear paw but it ended up looking like a birthday cake.
Comments welcome :)
