Jetengine in Frostgrave
« on: 11 January 2016, 11:22:35 PM »
Like many others I began Frostgrave after my gaming group became interested in it. The rules are cheap yet well written with a lot of adaptability and interesting ideas. Some of the Minis are pretty good as well, albeit not all of them imo. My group mostly used a mixture of pre existing WFB and Privateer Press minis with a few buying a ton of Reaper Bones. I went for Reaper as well but decided against using the generic fantasy models.

I went with Mouslings.

I've had several games so far and my Illusionist wizard and co are doing ok.

Here's the first of the gang, the Mousling Barbarian, Icbinc. This stands for 'I-cant-believe-its-not-Conan'. Painted but not based.

"What is good in life Icbinc ?"
"To crush the cats, see them driven before you and hear the lamentations of the cheesemonger"

EDIT : Circa November 2020

With the revival of this thread, I thought a bit of reorganisation was in order.

Models completed circa  14/8/2021

what happens if they go up against a warband of cats?
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

Ah, but they will be brilliant against any warband that relies upon an elephant!

So it's been nearly two weeks since my last update, real life etc. I've  managed to cobble together a fair selection of monsters for my bestiary from left over models and old toys. Sellsword finally came out though :D I've got the perfect figure for my captain as well.....

I call him 'Dumas' in honour of the French author of The Three Musketeers. In accordance with his musketeer garb his 'tricks of the trade' will be Riposte and Coup de Grace.

A frost wraith, no clue where the model is from originally, I got it from a member of my club who was giving out old figures for any who wanted them. I considered making him a member of a new crew but decided against it, with a suitable paint job he's been turned into a icy denizen of the afterlife, haunting those who (like him in life) attempt to loot the remnants of the frozen city.

Same as above for this models origin, but he definitely fit the candidate of Spectre, a less ice oriented ghost. Instead of a blue paintjob I went with the classical ethereal green, although it has come out somewhat yellow on the camera.

It's been a while but things haven been done

A Werewolf, Medium Constructs and Frostwraiths. Followed by my much more carefully painted Archer and Mousling themed Medium Construct.

ARISE ZOMBIE THREAD

*cackling, lightning etc*

Anyway. Many years later I decided to give Frostgrave another go (with some Ghost Archipelago in the future and deffo Stargrave) and my first port of call was to bulk out my bestiary. Nolzurs do a marvelous job of this. Heres a large construct, two wraiths (or Banshees) and a bit of scenery.

Jet good to see some gaming necromancy although (having experience such gaps in projects like most gamers do) I’d just describe it as a dramatic pause to build tension  :D

I haven’t played Frostgrave although I own it/GA and RoSD but they all seemed pretty functional (I like RoSD’s whole ethos/attitude) just my club was (who knows if or what it will be.....) more focused on commercial rulesets ::). Always nice to feel some inspiration flowing, keep up the good work,

You try the usual stuff, pentagrams, dribbly candles the whole shebang. Nothing. Throw a copy of "Worlds funniest knock knock jokes" into the summoning circle and the blighter appears. Typical.

A Major demon converted from a Nolzurs Monstrous Miniatures Shambling Hulk. When I bought the model I didn't realise it was a plant thing so it needed a lot of conversion to make it more demonic. I'm fairly happy with the end product, it certainly looks unsettling enough.
