Very nice job on that church. The paper idea is excellent.
My efforts with MDF are not so nice as this but, I have to say, that MDF is so much better than card and the bits and pieces (doors, windows, etc.) by companies like War Bases have speeded up my making of buildings a great deal.
War bases building blank sets done up for the Italian Wars (church scratch).

War Bases MDF windows and doors to a scratch built MDF building.

As for durability, I have card buildings that have lasted 20 years, so MDF should last even longer. All of these are mounting card, the backs of old Christmas cards, and a few bits of balsa wood. They are all over 15 years old.
