The Asian Elephant is quite a bit smaller than the African, measuring from around 6.5 - 9ft at the shoulder and the research that I did suggested that the larger elephants were much harder to come by and were highly prized because of this. I'm quite a believer in the 'Chinese whispers' approach to history and prefer to look at the likely practicalities of what would have been available, rather than stories told many years after an event, so went with the Ebob Elephant, which gave me the overall scale I was looking for, rather than the huuuge options!!
This might also give a better idea of the scale of the elephant compared to the figures in the range, as miniature photos can be tricky:
This picture is of an actual Asian elephant and is a fairly good scale comparison, but it's also down to our own perceptions in the end too!!
