I haven't done any fantasy gaming for decades, but I'll be travelling to Ireland in April for a weekend of gaming with some buddies, and we plan to play some Frostgrave.

I figured it was a good opportunity to paint up some of the old Citadel Eternal Champion figures from my collection, and plan to make a Pan Tangian warband, using figures primarily from the Pan Tang range.

First up is my Wizard, Soorkan ul-K'aarna, accompanied by an archer (Citadel chaos thug) and thug/man-at-arms (Citadel Pan Tangian.

You can read more about the plans for the warband over at my blog. I hope you like them!

Excellent!  :-*

Great idea to use the Pan Tang as a setting :)

Great idea! It would be awesome if you have or could find the pantangian tiger handler model - you could sub the tiger for either a hound or summoned wolf.

Thanks guys!

I do indeed plan to do a tiger and handler (probably dog and thug initially) :)

The gent in white is my favourite of the three so far.  This will be a excellent warband, I can feel it :)

Keep 'em coming!

Superb!
Pan Tang is just perfect, what a cracking idea.

Gotta love those first three fellas, too, the whites are amazing.

Thanks guys. The white guy came up pretty well I think, plus he has that real classic Sinbad look.

As for Purple Islands / Towns Sea Kings, that's an interesting suggestion. I have Smiorgan Baldhead plus a couple of the 1980s Citadel Corsairs of Umbar that would make a suitable starting point :)

Following on from my Pan Tang Sorcerer and henchmen, I've painted up a tiger and its handler.

The tiger is the stock model from Citadel's Eternal Champion range, but the handler is unreleased (still by Citadel though).

I spent more time than is healthy, looking at photos of tigers on the net in preparation for the markings. I think I've managed to translate it into 28mm scale ;)

More words and photos over at my blog.

Gorgeous brushwork.
It seems the tiger-ogling paid off handsomely.

I have a few of those Tygers for a (slowly) approaching project (probably for 2018 or so at my current rate....) and was wondering whether to go classic tiger or not....you have given me plenty food for thought with that fella.

 ;)

They are lovely  :)

The warband is shaping up very nicely, I'm really looking forward to seeing them in hand!

What's next?

Thanks all :)

@Mason - I very nearly went white tiger, and was also considering a more exotic colour scheme (they're aren't Earth tigers after all), but in the end decided that the traditional orange with black stripes hit the tiger requirements best!

@cheetor - it's probably the apprentice next. Or maybe a second archer?

Glad you we to with traditional tiger, adds a nice contrasting colour to the warband! This is making want to dig out my out Eternal Champion figures now...maybe a Melnibonean warband?
One figure I never got my hands on was Smorgan Baldhead. Have you seen the prices when they come up on eBay now!?! Mad!
