To be honest this could go in a number of boards but given a number of Abyssinian threads thought I would put it here.
I treated myself to a late birthday present (as you do)
SOLDATI D'AFRICA STORIA DEL COLONIALISMO ITALIANO E DELLE UNIFORMI PER LE TRUPPE D'AFRICA DEL REGIO ESERCITO 5 volumes by Renzo Catellani and Gian Carlo Stella , Ermanno Albertelli Editore.
Apologies to those who don't read Italian. This is quite an impressive set of 5 volumes, A4 hardbacks covering
1885-1896
1897-1913
1914-1929
1930-1939
1940-1943
About 250ish pages with lots of B/W photos, timelines, key actions, various organisational breakdowns, plus at the end up to a further 70 or so colour photos and osprey type plates (earlier vols have less plates).
I got these new at a bargain 100 euros the set, but you can find them (individually) at a variety of prices.
I just thought I would raise awareness of their existence. I haven't checked the boards as to whether previously posted.
(BTW I am not one of the authors, or their mates!)
