Thanks Darrell and don't worry, I've got enough to make a start.

Thanks Darrell and don't worry, I've got enough to make a start.

I'll keep working on trying to figure out how to work the scanner.... though I think it may well be a case of the printer being out of date(?)  :-[ :'(

Darrell.

Stuart,

I've got a stack of stuff- hundreds!

Only problem is, since I downloaded Windows 10 the scanner on my printer has gone bonkers and I cannot scan anything without it being made up of huge files of parts of the scanned paper!  >:( >:(

I'd love to help but I really cannot scan anything at present  :-[

Darrell.
Had the Same Problem with windows7, but the Small program called vuescan help. It helps when you want to use unsupported scanners (older scanners). Other way is a picture with your smartphone, when you use such a phone.

OK, here goes, first off the desk is Jacques deCrequy, killed at Agincourt.

My initial interest in him is that his relative, Antoine deCrequy was the commander of the Therouanne garrison during its siege by Henry VIII's army in 1513 - if you're unaware, that's my predominant obsession.

This came about with Richard's (Captain Blood) hint on another board to try another period and also Simon (Painterman) doing the same and giving me a few of the Perry French knights plastics.

Thus, with a promise of filling his ranks for the forthcoming Agincourt demo game at the Leeds armouries (being careful not to state a definite figure) this is my first painting of 2016 so thanks both.

Nice figure, really good detail, especially on the visor, I'm really rather impressed, this set feels marginally better than the WOTR foot knights though more variation in the subject matter may be the reason perhaps?

Incidentally my first army as a boy was a 25mm Essex HYW English so it's been a little bit nostalgic- though perhaps more patient.

Anyway, enjoy !

A great start to 2016 - could be a vintage year?

Intriguing... Was this just a cold day in Olde England, Simon, or have you been re-enacting Narvik?  :)

Excellent painting there!  :)

(back safely from sub-zero reenactment conditions - how did they survive without glazing?)

They wrapped up well and always wore their woolly vests. When you think about it, a jack with 25-30 folds of linen, a deer leather cover and the stuffing on top would make an awesome body warmer.

  lol
