What next for Copplestone Barbarica 15mm fantasy?
« on: 16 February 2016, 01:51:52 PM »
It has been a while since we have seen anything new so to be honest I would take just about anything.
However if I was to write a Christmas list I would say in the short term we need a command pack for the Picts.

There was talk of fantasy Romans has anybody seen greens or sketches?

I hope you are wrong about the fantasy roman.

I will prefer some 15mm adventurers. The minis are ready since 2011:

I waint them.

Looks like the great man has given up again... Apart from sculpting a few of the new 28mm Frostgrave character models for Nick at North Star (all as brilliant as ever), I don't think he's produced anything for a couple of years now.
Pity. He's still one of the best there is.
But that's the artistic temperament for you... If the muse isn't with you, or the motivation, eyesight, or various other factors are not what they used to be...  :(

Stephane I would like to see those adventurers as well.
As for the fantasy Romans, if Barbarica was based on Hyboria. Then I would have thought something ancient Greek based or Egyptian would be more apprpriate.
But would take anything.
I hope he hasn't given up completely. Aren't the 10mm dwarves relatively new?

Its not looking good at the moment.
The last Barbarica releases were the 15mm dwarves and if i remember rightly that was over a year ago.
I heard that Mark planned on doing the first romans as soon as the Northlander/barbarian cavalry was done.
I hope he has not completely given up on the range.

One thing I wish he'd release before he gives up the ghost is a selection of 28mm heads. Sad to say, that's another thing I doubt will ever happen.

But then I never thought I would see 10mm Dwarves.

The release of the 10mm dwarves was in August 2014.

Let's hope this silence doesn't mean there wön't be any more minis... :(

But what I meant was, the ange didn't expand for years, then they unexpectedly appeared.

I so do hope, he will find the time and inspiration to do the Pict characters. I emailed wih him about that years ago and even send him some drawings of actual finds from prehistory which he was curious about. Sadly, he already then stated that the sales of those unique beauties werent as high as he had expected.

Hopefully, Mr Copplestone, you'll finish the Picts to surprise us all!

Do you think if people started placing orders for the range that he might do more pieces for it?

There are quite a few packs which i am still after.

Maybe do some small warbands Frostgrave style to help get more people interested.

I hope so too. I keep buying the figures and talking about them. The hope is to generate some interest in continuing the range.
Shame that the Picts didn't sell well as they are nice figs and crazily easy to paint. But with no command it is a hard sell.
