Thanks gents ......... new years progress continues.

Firstly some very tasty replacement track arrived to go one my T90s. Depending on the joy it gives me once fitted we may get some more for the rest of the fleet ...

Finished the base builds on the additional EM10s. Got a few details to add/tidy and then it's onto the base paint for them.

And lastly the start of a new 28mm '46 project with the first vehicles being from JTFM. Not sure on the final scope but the plan as I know it is for a few more vehicles to be added and maybe a conversion or two. I'm replacing the rather enemic Staghound wheels with the same ones on Richards Boarhound which should improve it quite a bit and I may fiddle with the gun lengths a little too just to calm my OCD ....

 :-*Glad you like them!

did you sand the corners off or did they come like that?

I have to say it's very odd seeing my work getting painted up by other people - I've only built for myself until recently!
Plus I'veonly seen the Tortoise unpainted until recently!

Yeah I sanded the edges ... I do that with most wheels, helps with the way I paint them. I test fitted them to the Staghound and it made a world of difference to a model that is a little "off" to my eye so we've included some more with the next JTFM order for me to use on it.

And the Tortoise and Boarhound are great bases for a bit of extra detailing and should paint really well (this is just primer and sans detailing).

cheers
Brent

And todays track work ....

And today I got the second track run completed and fitted to the T90A conversion. Should flick some paint on them tomorrow then it's time to finish the crew .... it's definitely on the home stretch at last.

T90A wheels and tracks base painted and fitted. Pretty pleased with how its looking now, just crew and weathering then it's on to another one ....

And assembly of the Perry Portee finished. Had to do some gizmology on this one as it didn't come with front wheel guards and the top deck/winch did not fit at all well. All tidied and ready for some british looking paint ....

The Portee looks great, shaping up to be a very characterful model.
(I'm a bit surprised how well the 1/48 replacement tracks fit your Empress(?) T90, are they (the tanks) on the larger 28mm side? Cos now you've got me thinking about all those 1/56/28mm tanks that could do with better detailed tracks...)

Fantastic work on the T90 Brent. Stunning modelling and painting. The figures are none to shabby either ;)

The Portee looks great. You have worked wonders with it. How the hell did you scratchbuild those mudguards / wheel arches?
Sorry it's proved so troublesome for you. I can't wait to see it finished, pictured alongside the rest of the vehicle park, and then get it in my hot, sticky little hands!

Cheers.

Hi matey, yeah the Empress Modern range is 1/50th and closer to 1/48th than 1/56th so the size difference while still noticeable if you know what to look for, is minimal.. When Imprint started out I suspect the decided to go for a "middle ground" to appeal to both scales (good for me as I prefer 1/48th) and plus Corgi diecasts, which were very popular here in NZ are mostly 1/50.

Hey Richard :)  The mudguards are 2mm styrene, heated, bent and cooled and then filed to the curves, close enough I hope as the real thing has compound curves in 3 directions. On the crew, I'll paint the shield but not attach it so you can paint them and fit them, as my style is to far off to look good next to yours I feel and it'd be nice to see the whole collection unified. Should get it finished next week (big scale painting at the moment - house!) and then packed and off ....

cheers

That T90 is a piece of art. Amazing; seriously well done.

Thanks gentlemen, appreciate the comments on the T90 - tis a pet project I'm definitely enjoying, even if progress is a bit slow.

Finally finished the Perry AT-Portee to go with the rest of Richards Desert tanks so a couple more group pics to take then it's packing and shipping time.
