Gaming on the Eastern Front 14-15
« on: February 24, 2016, 04:15:31 PM »
I'm going to start skirmish gaming on the Eastern Front 1914-15 and am looking into figures for Germans and Russians.
How well do these line scale together, Footsore, Studio Siberia, Copplestone, I'd like to get most of my Russians from these three, and Mutton Chop, Brigade Games and Great War for Germans.
Also am I missing anyone?

What would be a good set of rules?

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

I have no idea on the scaling of Russians, though Copplestone figures are generally at the larger beefier end of the spectrum. The Brigade Germans that I have don't seem too out of place next to the Great War Americans that I have.  Guessing the Mutton Chop might be a bit slimmer than the first two

Rules-I enjoy "Through the Mud & Blood" from Too Fat Lardies for platoon sized games. For larger games I use "Setting the East Ablaze"

The Copplestone figures are indeed chunkier than Brigade, though I use both ranges in my army.

That said, the difference is unnoticeable when comparing cavalry models to infantry, and the differences can be minimized by keeping figures from the two ranges in different units (for example, I use the beefier Copplestone figures with the forward-marching pose for my Don Cossack Ataman Regiment elites).
