28mm Adobe Style House
« on: March 03, 2016, 07:29:51 PM »
Inspired by Malamute's outstanding work and watching Texas Rising.....

Fred and Shaggy are obviously puzzled where Scooby is and why Daphne looks like Donna from Dr Who.....

Can't decide whether I should base it but next up is a hacienda. Just need some Boot Hill figures now!

Thanks for looking.

Phil

Great stuff, it looks excellent.  ;D

Be careful though they are very addictive you could end up building lots. lol

Lovely  :-*  :-*  :-*

The door is very well done, and the wooden beams too. I really like your paintwork which ties it all together, and it has really pulled out all the texture. The building is very interesting to look at! 8) 8)

Not bad for a little box hey ;)

Cheers

Thanks for the kind words and comments. Addictive - definitely as I seem to be surrounded by huge amounts of foamcore!

The door is scribed Weetabix packet, painted brown and then dry brushed - the ultimate scratchbuild!

Thanks for looking.

Excellent!
Especially that door.
Never would have guessed at cardboard.

Hi Mason

Must admit I was a bit sceptical before I tried it but now I make whole packets worth! It's a bit boring and doing the battening can be a bit hit and miss and messy. In the end it's a better looking result than laser cut as it gives depth to the piece. Plus it's cheap! Not everything is going to work first time.

I was first inspired by Gary Chalk's articles in WI but despite buying the foam core/ balsa and cutting it out didn't have the confidence to do anything with it for nearly ten years but then was left with 5kg of filler after a DIY project and a month off work with something nasty but not lethal.

Malamute's beautiful buildings reignited that interest especially as SP2 is in the works and I really like the look of those Boot Hill Miniatures. I've found out the original GC articles and pieces so will have far too many buildings far too quickly.
