[Kickstarter] dwarf veteran warband
« on: 03 March 2016, 11:07:27 PM »
Hope it's okay to post this here :-)
We, RPE Miniatures and Games, are running a two week kickstarter at the moment to fund production of a 28mm veteran dwarf warband, it's been going pretty well and is already 400% funded with plenty of add-ons unlocked.
Sculpted by the very talented Mark Evans, these examples were painted by the much less talented me-

A lot of backers seem to be planning to use them for Frostgrave, which is what I was planning to do with them myself.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/550360615/dwarf-veteran-warband/description

the first stretch goal has added a free (hilarious) dwarf assassin to all pledges at the 'flagon of ale' £25 pledge (10 dwarves) and above.

thanks for looking :-)

Already in on this. Sculpts look nice and the stretch goals are falling fairly quick.

Yes, also already in, nice skulpts, simple KS, straightforward clear stretch goals, and who can resist more shiny dwarfs?

Not yet decided whether I can afford this kickstarter. But I will point out that the 10 dwarves pretty much makes a perfect frostgrave warband. There's even an apprentice in there!

It's almost like it was planned like that :)

If there is any insinuation that I may have used my position at RPE to get myself a dwarf warband for frostgrave, it's quite accurate  ;)
Glad you like them, we aimed to keep it short, simple and affordable. There have been suggestions for cavalry and other specials but we decided that we would rather do another KS in the future for that and keep this one small and easily deliverable

Yes, put in the extra pence and thought frostgrave stunties the moment I read the "apprentice" stretch goal.  ;)

Regardless, nice one, ta very much, and glad I still can spare the money this month  :o

After all, its them or eat. I need to diet anyway  ::)

Please refrain from more position misuse for several months, otherwise I might have to skip the next KS due to hobby related fund shortages ;D

scouse-ish, don't tell anyone but the other half of RPE is from the Wirral  ;D

Thanks, Mark did a great job on these first batch, I keep pestering him for wip photos of the others he's working on, I should probably leave him in peace to get on with it but I need KS updates dammit!

You guys should do a level that includes all stretch goals that cost something, maybe with a promise to substitute copies of miniatures if it doesn't go over cost.

yesterday's update had pics of the guard captain add-on, pretty much finished.
We're now passed £5k so the latest unlocked add-on is a dwarf marksman on skis :-)

Why did you have to make them compatible with the old 80s and 90s dwarves. Why, dammit :'(

I thought I was past painting dwarves, thought my army was complete, but these are so very tempting.
