Both absolutely brilliant. Superb staging and painting at its best.
Michael - wonderful kit-bashing  (I was trying to work out where all the parts come from ) The chequered kirtle on the central figure, and the heraldic lion are both wonderfully done.
Jan - I love your entry. Such economy of colour. And your famous scarred shields!
I think maybe your picture is just a little bit over-exposed, otherwise the votes would surely be even.

Congratulations to both entrants. The quality of painting is very high, and a VERY hard choice. Am having to go on overall composition of the image. Both very deserving winners.

Calling this a coin-flip feels like an understatement.    In fact, you could have told me they were the same painter and I'd have believed it.    Really great work guys, time to find a quarter...

Another tough decision - I went with the red and white as I though this was a more 'complete' unit - but both decerve to get through.
