Large Post Apocalyptic Road Games

Has anyone played games like Thunder Road with a large number of players? What rules/adjustments did you have to make to accommodate more players than th standard number?

I used to run a game at conventions that was based loosely on the Road Warrior fuel chase and used a simplified version of the Wastelands Meltdown rules.  It's a nice streamlined set that could fairly easily could accommodate the 6 players we had.  We added a partial respawn and board re-entry mechanic for the bad guys that kept all the players involved for the entire game.

You can get a copy of the scenario and special rules on this page

For group games of any type, I think the best practice is always to streamline the rules wherever possible (even on an already simple game like Wastelands)

I think I ran it 2 or three times at conventions.  Would have run it more, but then I got interested in giant stompy robots in 28mm....

That's a lot of Post Apocalyptic gold there. I am sure there will be stuff I can use. Thanks!

You're very welcome!

Punch "Post Apoc" or "Apocalypse" or "Wastelands" into the blog's search function and you'll be drowning in post apocalyptica.  We haven't done much lately, but it's one of the club's go-to genres.

I'll also suggest Nuclear Renaissance as a good possibility.  If you've got 4+ players, I'd recommend giving each player only one vehicle, but it's a very nice system with a smidge more crunch than wastelands.  Also, like Wastelands, it's free!
